As the search for Nancy Guthrie in Tucson, Arizona continues, authorities are speaking about a warning that residents might be seeing frequent and visible police activity linked to whatever ongoing leads that they receive.
The Sheriff's department has similarly stressed the fact that a federal court-ordered search warrant at a residence about two miles from Guthrie's residence prompted them to carry out a raid in the neighborhood and take a vehicle of interest into custody.
Residents say the house belongs to an elderly woman and her adult son, neither of whom has been charged. All individuals who were taken in for questioning were released without any arrest, and nothing definitive has yet to be found in the ongoing search. Sheriff Chris Nanos repeated how the searches stem from investigative leads and that the case remains open with no confirmed suspects.
Investigators have gotten tens of thousands of tips since Guthrie vanished on January 31. They're still analyzing forensic evidence, including DNA that does not match anyone close to her.
