A tragic bus crash recently took place near Twin Lakes in Iowa.
This is when a bus carrying the Iowa Lakes Community College Baseball team went off the road and overturned into a ditch alongside Highway 4 shortly after 11 am.
The Iowa State Patrol confirmed that one person was killed at the scene, and the other 32 occupants aboard the bus were seriously injured.
All passengers were evacuated and accounted for after emergency crews replied to the single-vehicle incident.
No other cars were involved, as per the police, and the cause of this crash is still currently being investigated.
First responders, including ambulances and medical helicopters, were seen shifting the injured to several area hospitals, where at least three people were airlifted to trauma centers.
Iowa Lakes Community College shared concerns for all those impacted, adding that student and staff safety is a major priority while coordinating with authorities and families.
