A deadly mass shooting took place on February 10 in the remote town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada.
The incident reportedly left several people dead and many injured. As per authorities, the subject was a 18 year old girl named Jesse Van Rootselaar who identified as a trans woman and was previously seen attending the local secondary school.

Police shared more about how Van Rootselaar first shot and killed her mom and 11-year-old stepbrother at their residence before making their way towards the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where she opened fire.
At this school, several victims were killed incuding students aged 12 and 13, as well as one adult educator and dozens of others who were wounded in the incident.
Officials confirmed that Van Rootselaar had killed herself with a gunshot to the head. Police have confirmed that they believe she acted all alone. So far, the motive of this attack remains under cover.
