Angelina Jolie makes rare comments on her double mastectomy scars... 13 years after undergoing preventative surgery

Actress Angelina Jolie has made some very rare and personal comments about the preventive double masectomy procedure that she underwent in the year 2013.

This is right after the star learned that she carried the BRCA1 gene mutation that puts her at a high risk for breast cancer. In another interview, the celeb was seen describing the scars from the surgery, not with regret but as a major choice that she is very grateful for.

She reflected more on how this was a proactive decision that was made to protect her health and be there for her kids.

Jolie explained further how she's never been drawn to the idea of a life without any scars. She instead sees them as marks of lived experience and resilience, and she even emphasized more on how having the freedom to make that health decision was important to her.

In the past, the star mentioned how the death of her mother from cancer influenced her decision to undergo this procedure and later have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed for similar preventive reasons. Her reflections on this comes as she's busy promoting her latest movie dubbed Couture.
