Minnesota Governor Hallie Marie Tobler was found stabbed to death in her apartment during the late hours of Saturday night.
Police rushed to the scene after reports of a medical emergency discovered her with several stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her 23-year-old husband, Dylan Michael Tobler, was also found injured and taken to the hospital. As per the authorities, his wounds were said to be self-inflicted, and that he's the person responsible for Hallie's death. He's now in a stable condition and is expected to face homicide charges once he is discharged and transferred to jail.

Hallie was the daughter of Republican gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson, who is a former Cloud City Council member. In the wake of this shocking killing, Johnson shared how he's suspending his campaign for governor of Minnesota and will focus on his family during this period of mourning.
