Amid the high-profile investigation into the sudden disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Gutrie, her family has now gone on to request law enforcement to try to maintain a police presence at her home in Tucson, Arizona, for security reasons.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that at the family's request, deputies will now routinely monitor this property to ensure it stays protected while this case remains active.
The move is designed to replace the private security that had been guarding the home in the previous days of the search.
The department also reminded the public and media to respect the property and traffic laws and to prevent trespassing on the Guthrie residence.
Nancy was reported missing on February 1 after she failed to appear at a church following dinner the night before.
Authorities believe she was taken against her will, snatched from her bed. So far, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified.
