Law enforcement agencies in Tucson, Arizona, have resumed active investigative efforts in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who is the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie.
After initial processing of her Catalina Foothills residence as a crime scene and returning the property to the family, authorities were seen returning to the location and carrying out a grid search of a wooded area adjacent to the residence.
Investigators included federal agents and K-9 units, combed the nearby trees and brush in hopes of finding more evidence linked to Nancy's disappearance, but no major discoveries were reported from this search so far.
Cops were also seen re-entering the trash of this property and finding items as part of the bigger criminal investigation, which continues to treat this case as a suspected kidnapping after signs of forced entry and blood evidence were found.
Authorities continued to emphasize more on how Nancy didn't leave voluntarily, given her limited mobility and reliance on daily medications.
