Actress Sydney Sweeney has publicly replied to her nickname 'MAGA Barbie' and how it's gone viral online.
The star seemed to try to distance herself from political labels after a year of intense debate linked to her public image.

The nickname arose after her American Eagle 'Great Jeans' ad campaign, which drew plenty of criticism for its wordplay and visuals. Some internet users were also seen interpreting it differently as someone who is politically charged.
The criticism intensified further when it became a known fact that she was registered as a Republican, despite hardly ever speaking about her political beliefs in public.

In another interview, the celeb was seen emphasizing how she does not see herself as a political figure and has zero intention of engaging in a political discourse.
Furthermore, she added how her focus has always been related to the arts genre, and discussions linked to politics are not something she wants to be the center of attention for. The star acknowledged that staying silent for too long might have given rise to all the confusion about her, but also stressed how labels linked to her by others do not reflect who she is.
