Paris Jackson Asks Michael Jackson’s Estate to Transfer $600 Million Into a Trust for Her and Her Brothers, 17 Years After His Death

Paris Jackson is asking a Los Angeles judge to step in and order her late father's estate to transfer approximately $600 million into a family trust intended for her and her two brothers.

In a court filing submitted on October 29, Paris, 28, argued that the trust has remained unfunded more than 17 years after Michael Jackson's death in 2009, despite the estate generating billions of dollars through business deals and asset sales.

The trust was established to benefit Michael's three children: Prince, Paris and Bigi. According to the filing, they were supposed to begin receiving income from their respective shares at age 21, with additional distributions scheduled for later years.

Paris' legal team pointed to an estate accounting showing approximately $850 million in cash and cash-equivalent assets at the end of 2024. After accounting for potential liabilities, she believes around $600 million could be transferred to the family trust.

However, the estate's representatives strongly dispute her position.

They say outstanding legal matters, particularly an ongoing dispute with the Internal Revenue Service involving approximately $700 million in taxes and penalties, must be resolved before the trusts can be fully funded.

The estate also denied withholding money from the children, saying more than $200 million has already been distributed for their benefit.

Paris' spokesperson pushed back, arguing that the estate could have partially funded the trust years ago.

A judge is scheduled to hear Paris' request on December 4. The court will decide whether to order the requested transfer or another amount it considers appropriate.

The dispute marks another chapter in the ongoing legal battle over the fortune Michael Jackson left behind.
