Sultan of Brunei strips daughter-in-law of royal titles over ‘unbecoming’ behavior

The Sultan of Brunei has ended up stripping his daughter-in-law of royal titles over unbecoming behavior.

On Saturday, the longtime ruler issued a decree revoking the title of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri from Raabi'atul Adawiyyah. She's married to the Prince Abdul Malik, who is the Sultan's second son from his first and only remaining wife, Queen Saleha.

Sources shared that their kids' titles will not be impacted by this decision. The circumstances of the Sultan's decision are currently unclear. The office of the Grand Chamberlain confirmed in a statement that Raabi'atul is no longer considered part of the royal family, saying only that the revocation of the titles was due to be carried out.
