New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's administration has left many speechless after a recent threat to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
The current administration is believed to be actively reviewing whether the city has the legal authority to arrest him.

This is in case he opts to visit the UN General Assembly in September. Mamdani, who took office as mayor in January of 2026, reiterated his stance during a podcast interview with the New York Times. This is where he stated that he belongs in The Hague.
The ongoing diplomatic and domestic row centers heavily on an international criminal court arrest warrant against Netanyahu.

The ICC Warrant was issued for Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant in the latter part of 2024 over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
