Oscar-winning actress Brenda Fricker has tragically passed away.

The Irish star passed away at the age of 81 following a period of ill health. Her talent agent confirmed the news from Dublin, describing her as a screen legend whose presence would be deeply missed across the film and television landscape.
Fricker reportedly built a prolific acting legacy spanning more than six decades and encompassing more than 30 major film and tv routes. In 1990, she made history as the first Irish woman to win an Academy Award, earning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Mrs. Brown in My Left Foot.
She attained lifelong international adoration as the reclusive Central Park Pigeon Lady in the 1992 holiday classic Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
