The backlash began when Kim posted a series of sunny pictures from a family lake getaway with the caption 'lake life'.
The pictures, which showed her posing on a boat in swimwear, appeared shortly after her mom published an emotional tribute announcing the death of the family's 91-year-old matriarch, MJ or Mary Jo Shannon.
Frustrated followers flooded Kim's comments section with hate as they felt she had no soul to share something like that during the time of her grandmother's death.
