She revealed how her former Harriet the Spy co-star was not in the best place at that moment in time.
The popular talk show host mentioned that she struggled with addiction and was in pretty bad shape during her final years. O'Donnell then went on to add that she got so inaccessible despite her great efforts to assist her, occasionally missing planned meals and calls due to her declining condition.
The star passed away at the age of 39. Her family declined an autopsy at the start, but her cause of death was soon revealed to be due to natural complications from diabetes, and she had recently undergone a liver transplant.
