The 55-year-old actor stars as the Greek hero Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's epic IMAX adaptation of the film The Odyssey. To better portray the plagued warrior, he was seen undergoing a very intense physical transformation.
This includes slimming down to just 167 pounds and facing major, grueling conditions across five different nations. This assisted him in overcoming some personal fears, such as claustrophobia.
Off-screen, Damon's focus is mostly on his family. He shares four daughters with his wife Luciana, and admits he's trying to be very highly intentional about cherishing the final moments his younger kids are still living at his residence.
