Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway’s Son Marius Borg Høiby Released from Jail for House Arrest amid Appeal

Marius Borg Hoiby, the 29-year-old son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette- Marit, was recently released from prison.

Sources shared more about how he's set to serve house arrest with electronic monitoring.

The news comes after a court in Oslo approved his transfer for a four-week period, during which he appeals his recent sentence. He would be residing near Skagum, the royal residence of his mother and stepfather, Crown Prince Haakon.

Hoiby was sentenced to four years in jail after being convicted of several offenses, which included two counts of rape. He was first arrested in August of 2024, and that's when his legal troubles began to escalate into a high-profile trial involving 38 charges of sexual abuse and physical assault.
