Bruce Willis's wife Emma admits she is 'consistently in grief' amid the 71-year-old actor's battle with frontotemporal dementia

Emma Heming Willis recently shared how she lives consistently in grief while navigating her role as the main caregiver for her husband, Bruce Willis, who is battling frontotemporal dementia.

Speaking openly during a recent podcast, the 47-year-old model described her emotional state as a form of ambiguous loss, which means grieving someone who is still physically present but mentally or emotionally changed.

She noted how dementia continues to take away pieces of a person, requiring family members to continuously adapt and mourn new losses with time.

During her appearance, Emma also corrected a major narrative surrounding the Die Hard actor's condition. FTD is often confused with Alzheimer's disease, but Willis' memory remains intact. He does remember his wife, two young daughters, two older daughters and Demi Moore. The star's condition is more related to the language-centered variant, which mostly impacts his ability to communicate.
