An anonymous tip claiming that missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was buried in an unmarked grave near the Mexico border prompted two volunteer search operations that both came up empty.

A caller contacted the Mexican volunteer search group called Buscando Corazones Nogales. They claimed Guthrie's remains were left near a stream under a tree in the Mariposa area of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, right across the border from Arizona.
The collective launched a physical search in the designated region, but they found nothing. This is when a tipster called back with more specific coordinates, prompting an immediate search, which also concluded without finding any trace of Guthrie.

Search organizers have stated they do not want to leave any stone unturned and have therefore scheduled a third search that would be carried out on June 16. The PIMA County Sheriff's Department was seen sharing a message on this matter. They claim that the Mexican authorities have not reached out to US officials regarding this matter yet.
