Zahara Jolie Pitt has officially filed a legal petition to drop Pitt from her last name.
Court documents show the 21 year old college graduate requested her legal name be changed to Zahara Marley Jolie. This makes her the third child of former Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to legally file for a name change. This filing adds to the ongoing public estrangement between Pitt and the kids.
While the court filing makes it official, Zahara has been dropping Pitt publicly for years. During her 2023 sorority induction at Spelman College, she loudly introduced herself to the crowd as Zahara Marley Jolie. She used the same name during her college graduation ceremony.
Sources close to Brad Pitt stated that the actor is deeply saddened by the ongoing divide. Insiders alleged that the name change is the result of a deliberate alienation campaign by Jolie. But reps for Jolie stated how the star is just focused on healing her family following the trauma.
