Texas Roadhouse has reportedly announced a new change regarding its timings for teenagers at all of its outlets.
The restaurant and all others across the US will soon be required to impose a strict 7 pm end time for certain teens. The popular steakhouse chain and a host of other leading eateries have to be very careful when hiring minors. That's because the US Department of Labor imposes strict rules to keep kids protected from unfair employment practices.
This entails strict laws on how many hours can be worked and what time teenage staff need to finish.
Under this federal law, all 14 and 15-year-olds can only work between 7 am and 7 pm and only outside of school hours.
That evening cut-off is extended to 9 pm during the summer months, between June 1 and Labor Day, sources shared.
