Blake Lively demands Justin Baldoni pay her ‘significant’ damages as pair may end up in mini-trial despite settlement

It wouldn't be wrong to say that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle has reignited after the actress's attorneys were seen appearing inside a New York federal court on June 1.

According to reports from local media outlets, they were seen demanding a major sum of money in damages despite their recent settlement. Her legal team is pushing for a standalone mini-trial to fix these financial claims, which Baldoni's team strongly opposes. The escalation stems from a 2023 California statute that protects sexual harassment accusers from retaliatory legal cases.

Lively's argument says that the $400 million defamation countersuit previously filed against her by Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios was an illegal move. Under the California statute, she claims entitlement to attorney's fees, punitive damages, and triple damages.
