The escalation stems from a 2023 California statute that protects sexual harassment accusers from retaliatory legal cases.
Lively's argument says that the $400 million defamation countersuit previously filed against her by Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios was an illegal move. Under the California statute, she claims entitlement to attorney's fees, punitive damages, and triple damages.
