Former NHL star Claude Lemieux died at the age of 60 after taking his own life.
Following his tragic death, close friends were seen revealing that the four-time Stanley Cup champion had been battling severe depression, feeling as though he was living under a very heavy burden of rejection.
As per his close pals, the two deeply painful reasons that broke his heart included the hockey hall of fame snub. Despite a career that spanned 21 seasons, winning four Stanley Cups, and ranking him ninth all-time in playoff goals, he was never inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame after he retired in the year 2009.
Secondly, close sources shared how he went nearly a decade without speaking to some of his kids. This prolonged estrangement weighed so much on him during his retirement years, and that resulted in some serious emotional pain.
