A plus-sized influencer is making heads turn after staging a protest over what she called blatant discrimination against fat people.
Jaelynn Chaney accused the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport of violating people's rights as she denied wheelchair assistance.
She added that this was discrimination of the worst kind, and her rights were being violated severely.
The fact that the sign screamed wheelchair access for all, and yet she was not getting any, had just so upset. The content creator with thousands of followers raised her voice on the matter and tried to frame the story that she was fat, so she was treated differently from others.
But critics were quick to argue and come in defense of the airport, urging her to realize that wheelchair access was not for overweight but for disabled passengers. She could clearly walk and therefore was not given the chance to avail this opportunity.
“I’m not alone—this has happened to other fat travelers, too. When I spoke up, people told me it was because I could ‘injure the staff’ just by existing,” she wrote in the caption of her TikTok video. “That’s blatant discrimination.”
