Road closures were recently put in place after a fire at a derelict former school was extinguished.
According to reports from local media outlets, flames were seen sweeping through the Grade II listed Newell House in Cornhill, Sherborne, which caused the roof to mostly collapse.
Scaffolding and hoardings were erected, and emergency road closures had been put in place as a precautionary measure while contractors worked on this site.
The town council shared more about how the school would be reopening soon after parts of the building declared to be the most dangerous were safely removed.
More than 35 firefighters from eight different stations were seen tackling the massive blaze that included a three-storey building that broke out at about 6 pm in the evening. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The authorities thanked the residents, businesses, and road users for their patience and cooperation on this matter.
