The world is bracing for generation three hantavirus cases as experts warn that we might be just days away from cruise passengers passing on the deadly illness as cases continue to spread in differnet parts of the world.
A WHO official is now warning that passengers aboard the hantavirus-hit cruise ship should be treated as high-risk contacts, as infected travelers, including Americans, now boarding a repatriation flight, return home following an outbreak that left three more dead.
Spanish health officials claimed that 17 Americans and one British passenger had boarded a US repatriation flight after disembarking from the hantavirus-hit MV Hondius cruise ship.
It was not yet clear if the flight ended up departing. 'Our recommendations are that we are considering all those on board, the crew, and the passengers as high-risk contacts because there are current investigations that are really trying to determine what kinds of investigations are being conducted and what types of exposures each of them had.
Experts added that there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment, and that is why they recommend that everyone be considered a high-risk contact for obvious reasons.
