Shocking reports are speaking about California's mayor stepping down after being charged with acting as an illegal agent for China.
Eileen Wang was charged in federal court wtih the felony count as confirmed by the US Attorney's Office. Later that day, a rep for her mentioned more about how she had resigned from her role as Mayor and Council Member for the City of Arcadia.
Wang was sworn in as mayor of Arcadia, which is a city of Los Angeles County, on February 16.
In its announcement, the US Attorney's Office mentioned more about how Wang is expected to plead guilty in the coming weeks. They also shared how Wang was charged in federal court with acting as an illegal agent of the People's Republic of China.
As per prosecutors, Wang admitted in a plea agreement that she and Yaoning Mike Sun of Chino Hills worked collaboratively to market the pro-PRC propaganda in the US from late 2020 through 2022.
