Singing powerhouse Dua Lipa is suing South Korean tech giant Samsung for nearly $15 million after claiming they used her face to sell TVs without her permission.
The British pop star is therefore demanding $15 million in damages, accusing the South Korean tech giant of using her picture without her consent and profiting from the sales to market its TV sets.
The lawsuit alleged that Samsung featured a copyrighted picture of the pop star on the front of the cardboard boxes containing televisions for retail sale, enabling the firm to benefit from what appeared to be her endorsement of the product. The image was used on TV boxes titled Dua Lipa - Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024.
The star is now demanding a whopping $15 million in damages from the tech giant after the lawsuit was filed in California's federal court. A rep for the company has declined to comment on the matter as investigations continue.
