Jerry Seinfeld has thrown some shade at Friends during the 2026 Netflix Is a Joke Festival, where he spoke out boldly about how the series was inspired by his own iconic sitcom called Seinfeld.
The comedian added the comment during his set at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, where he asked the audience to guess what his all-time favorite show was, as per insiders.
When one audience member shouted out Friends, he spoke about his theory that this show, starring big names like Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, amongst others, had taken the idea from his sitcom by literally copying the same theme.
He made it clear that his show came first in 89 or 90 and just a few years after that, Friends was seen being aired.
The star made it clear that this couldn't be a coincidence of any kind.
