Family Claims Father with Dementia Was Found Dead After Spirit Airlines 'Abandoned' Him

One family is breaking their silence on how Spirit Airlines is responsible for the death of their patriarch.

Marcos Humberto Vindel Osorio was a 75-year-old male with mild dementia. He passed away after he was found stuck by several vehicles on a roadway approximately an eight-minute drive from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Osorio's family alleges in an April 22 filing that Spirit Airlines staff did not assist Osorio upon his arrival in Houston, despite being instructed to do so at his departure airport.

The family now seeks compensatory damages for Osorio's wrongful death and the injuries that he sustained before his death, citing the Montreal Convention.

They are also seeking major damages for loss of companionship, support, and society by every plaintiff, loss of parental care, guidance, and support suffered.
