A former Miss Switzerland finalist has been killed by her own husband, who prosecutors claim carved out her womb and pureed her limbs inside a blender after she requested a divorce.

The horrifying incident unfolded in February of 2024 when Marc Rieben was accused of murdering his wife, the former beauty pageant contestant and catwalk coach Kristina Joksimovic, at their residence, which was overlooking the hills of Binningen near Basel.

Rieben is set to appear in a Swiss court on Monday as the murder trial begins. The husband, who volunteered with a scout group, is now accused of beating and strangling Joksimov, who was a mother of two, in a violent rage.
Before the final outburst, he demanded full-time custody of their two kids and denied any financial support to her during separation discussions.
