Tragic reports are speaking about a climber who plunged to his death in front of his lover after his rope snapped during a daring mountain ascent.
The victim was identified as Igor Andreoni Barbabella de Oliveira, who fell to his death at Morro da Ponta Aguda in Brazil.
An experienced climber from Belo Horizonte, Igor was tackling one of the world-famous routes dubbed Lisbela and the Prisoner when this tragedy arose.
He was climbing alongside his lover, Luiza, who later described his final moments. She mentioned that she heard her lover shouting catch, catch and that's when she witnessed him falling, and the rope just snapped all of a sudden.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene but encountered major issues while trying to retrieve the body.
Igor was found in a hard-to-reach location, which was dense with thick vegetation and large rocks. This forced rescuers to cut a path through the landscape to recover him safely.
