Tragic reports are speaking about five bodies being recovered from the Mediterranean Sea by the crew aboard the Sapphire Princess during a three-hour-long operation.

Witnesses claim that orange lifejackets were spotted between Spain and North Africa. The cruise ship deployed a fast rescue boat and coordinated with maritime authorities, recovering all five deceased individuals before it carried on with its voyage. Passengers were seen describing the matter as very shocking and disturbing, with some shaking when the event unfolded.

Local media outlets have confirmed that the bodies retrieved were not from any of the guests or crew members. They were instead said to be migrants. The ship docked in Cartagena on April 22.
