Charlize Theron recalled feeling very alone after her own mother fatally shot her dad in front of her as an act of self-defense.
The actress, who is also an Academy Award winner, mentioned more harrowing details that led up to this fatal 1991 encounter and the aftermath that arose, during the raw new interview with the New York Times.

This divulged more about how she thought she and her mother were the only individuals impacted by such incidents.
"I think these things need to be discussed in detail because it makes other people not feel alone," she added to the outlet in the interview published on Saturday.

"I never knew about a story such as this," the star added, and also revealed how the incident that happened to her and her mother, she assumed it was only with her. But later she found out about how so many other people went through similar incidents in their lives, and now the tale does not haunt her to that extent anymore.
