The video displayed the young infant who was born through surrogacy and cried for mama. McAnally made efforts to try to tell him that he only has two fathers to call on himself and his husband, Michael Baum.
The musician could be heard laughing while making a recording of his son, which netizens slammed as mocking the child.
They went on to argue that having gay parents is unnatural and that a child always needs a mother by his side. McAnally dismissed the assertion in a post that was shared on April 17 in the form of an interview with a leading media outlet.
Speaking online, the father mentioned in more detail how he was beyond shocked by the fury and upset reactions that he was getting for that video he posted. He didn't wish to offend anyone and was surprised by how invested people were in his family and parenting styles.
