Prince Harry and Meghan are officially Down Under.
The duo was seen kicking off the first leg of their visit to Australia since the 2018 royal tour and their first since stepping back from senior royal duties in the year 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex started their itinerary on Tuesday in Melbourne with a visit to the Royal Children's Hospital, which is a pediatric center with links to the royal family.
The pair was greeted by huge crowds of patients, staff, and loved ones, pausing to speak with the kids as well as take pictures with them. One of the patients mentioned how they were so glad to meet them for the first time and felt honored to give them flowers. Others added how their presence brought glad tidings and motivation to the kids who are battling serious illness.
The visit was very similar to a previous royal precedent, which featured Princess Diana and King Charles III visiting the same hospital in the year 1985. Harry had opened up in the past about how he's keen on honoring his mother's legacy with humanitarian work.
