British survivors of a terrifying bus crash are breaking their silence on a tragic incident that left one person dead and dozens more injured.
Sources shared how the survivors were left hanging upside down by their seatbelts after the vehicle plunged down a ravine. They described the terror after the bus suddenly lost control as a moment that was horrifying and traumatizing. One called it an absolute miracle that they were alive. Another added how they feared that they might end up dying.
One couple staying at the Canaries island's Bancal Hotel and Spa mentioned how this was something out of a horror movie. They mentioned how time ended up slowing down as the bus veered off the road and they went head over heels twice.
Despite wearing seatbelts, they continued to dangle in a helpless manner when the vehicle finally came to a stop. Some thanked their seatbelts for saving them in the end.
The bus was reportedly carrying 27 tourists from the UK, including three kids, and veered off the road on a bend as per reports from local media outlets. This is right before it plunged as much as 100 ft down a steep hillside ditch.
