A chilling new photo showed seven-year-old Athena Strand, moments before she was strangled and dumped into a river by a twisted FedEx driver who kidnapped her from her home in Texas while he was delivering her Christmas present.
The shocking and tragic picture of the terrifying young child in the back of a delivery van was shared in a courtroom yesterday morning. The suspect named Tanner Horner, pleaded guilty to capital murder of a child who was under the age of 10 and aggravated kidnapping for this slaying incident.
The shocking plea arose as his murder trial was set to kick off. Jurors would now be deciding if this killer FedEx driver would be sentenced to death or life in prison without any kind of parole.
"Now your sole duty would be to listen to all of this proof that is going to be presented to you because you would be using this evidence to figure out the proper punishment to be assessed," the judge mentioned.
