Comics Unleashed with Byron Alley will soon be taking over the network's 11:35 pm time slot that was once occupied by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The change will come into play starting May 22, as confirmed by local media outlets.
The talk show would be followed by another series that is produced by Allen, which is a comedy game show called Funny You Should Ask, and that would take center stage at 12:35 am.
"I created and launched Comics Unleashed nearly two decades back so my fellow comedians could have a platform to do what we all love, which is make people laugh,"- the post by Allen read. He also mentioned how he is so grateful to CBS for having confidence in him to lead such a big show and for picking his two-hour comedy block of Comics Unleashed and Funny You Should Ask for the timings.
Allen's upcoming arrangement with CBS is very unique as he's buying airtime from the same network in return for his own firm to sell ad spots during both the new shows that are coming soon. Therefore, the decision is purely a financial one.
