Tragic reports are speaking about a holiday in Benidorm, Spain, turning into a scene of absolute chaos when a hotel ceiling collapsed on guests during the busy Easter weekend.
The incident took place in a crowded indoor area at the Poisedon Palace hotel, where holidaymakers had gathered around to relax and enjoy their holiday.
As per reports from witnesses, a loud cracking sound soon echoed before sections of the ceiling suddenly gave way.
This sent debris crashing down below. Panic started to spread quickly as guests rushed to escape, while others tried to help all of those trapped or injured under the rubble.
Emergency services started to reply in a swift manner, arriving at the scene within a few minutes. Moreover, individuals were treated at the site, and some were rushed to nearby hospitals for more medical attention. While no fatalities were reported, many did experience cuts and bruises, as well as serious fractures. Officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of this collapse.
