OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is facing major legal scrutiny after his sister, Annie Altman, refiled a lawsuit featuring major allegations of childhood sexual abuse.
The amended complaint was rolled out in the US Federal Court in Missouri after a past version of this case was dismissed on procedural grounds.

In her filing, Annie alleges that this abuse arose over a period spanning from the 1990s to the mid 2000s, starting when she was very young.
The refiled lawsuit relied on Missouri's child sexual abuse statute, which enables certain historical claims to proceed even after standard legal deadlines have passed.

Sam Altman strongly denied all of the allegations. He similarly filed a countersuit that accused his sister of defamation, claiming that those accusations are false and damaging to his reputation. His legal filings characterized the lawsuit as an attempt at extortion.
