Brian Cox was seen sparking major backlash online after taking a serious dig at several Hollywood actors in a blunt interview.
On April 3, the Succession star slammed casting choices and revisited his long-running issues with Method acting, bringing up a series of A-list names from the industry like Margot Robbie and Daniel Day-Lewis.
While Cox was seen framing his comments as honest, many fans slammed him for constantly targeting other actors from the industry in his interview.
Cox took issue with Robbie being cast as Cathy in the 2026 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which is a story that he shared he respects so much. Mocking that very role, he was seen performing a line in the most exaggerated accent, copying Robbie's character.
He then explained more about the criticism in a more direct manner, adding how Margot is just too beautiful for such a role. "I mean, there is something more of the Gypsy for her!"- he added, suggesting that the character needs a new kind of presence.
