A couple from California was sentenced to death for the death of the woman's teenage daughter after torturing her for communicating with teenage boys.
On Thursday, sources shared more about how they were each sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for the August 2021 torture of the woman's daughter that led to the teen's death.
The victim was identified as Pearlene V. As per People Magazine, no response from their attorneys was given regarding this case.
The couple reportedly became very furious wth Pearlene for sending inappropriate text messages to teen boys. As a punishment, Elias and Gibbs made her do some very strenuous exercises in the hot sun.
After that, they beat her with a wooden plant and even made use of a belt for several hours as her sisters watched in horror and silence. Eventually, the victim died inside a makeshift bathroom inside the family's trailer that didn't have any kind of electricity, lighting, or running water.
