Mummified Body Found in Creek Identified as Man Who Disappeared After Walking Away from Home 2 Years Ago

Authorities were seen identifying mummified remains found inside a creek as belonging to a man from Michigan who was reported missing two years back.

James Sanford, who hails from Westland, was 75 years old when a missing person's report was filed with the Westland Police Department in April of 2024 by the police.

His remains were located on March 28, just after 6 pm, near Hines Drive and Levan Road, which were greatly decomposed and mummified.

Sources reported more about how they had cited the police and other sources close to the investigation about the shocking and tragic discovery.

The cops claim the victim was diagnosed with dementia, and it was the Medical Examiner's Office that made an identification through dental records.

Sanford was wearing clothes similar to what he was last seen in. The outlet shared more about how his dress comprised a dark hooded sweatshirt with dark pants and black shoes, which was what he was last seen in. He was last left on foot without any critical medication.
