A Delta flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Brazil during the late hours of Sunday after an apparent engine glitch sent flames and sparks shooting from the packed aircraft.
Shocking images from the Delta Flight DL 104, which was bound for Atlanta with nearly 272 passengers and 14 crew members on board, had suffered from a mechanical issue with its left engine as it was taking off at Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport.

Terrifying footage was shared through social media, and it captured sparks flying from under the wing just as the plane's wheels lifted from the runway.
The aircraft ended up blaming it on a mechanical issue for the wild mishap. The plane did end up landing safely and was met with first responders on arrival. All the passengers were transported by bus to the terminal.

More investigations are taking place in this regard, as passengers were shifted to another flight after a brief delay.
