2 students dead, at least 7 others injured in Tennessee school bus crash

At least two students were killed, and nearly seven more were injured on Friday after a school bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in West Tenessee.

Sources from local media outlets shared more about how the crash took place on Highway 70 in Carroll County and involved a state Department of Transportation dump truck, a school bus, and a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The Sheriff's department referred to this incident as a parent's worst nightmare, as officials were said to be investigating the cause of this crash, but it appeared that the transportation department dump truck didn't contribute to the incident.

The school system shared more about the incident in a statement about how the bus was transporting students and employees from Kenwood Middle School to Jackson, Tennessee, for a field trip. The district added how the families of those on the bus were contacted.

"Our hearts go out to the students and their families involved in this devastating crash. We request all to please pray for everyone," the message went on to read. At least seven more people were said to have been rushed to different hospitals after sustaining injuries.
