1-Year-Old Killed in DUI Crash with 14-Year-OId Mom Behind the Wheel

A one-year-old child was killed in a DUI crash with a 14-year-old mom behind the wheel.

The crash took place at about 2:04 am local time in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64, as per the Virginia Pilot. Police shared how the silver sedan driven by a teen veered off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail.

Soon after that, the car ended up crossing over and ramming into a barrier lane on the left side of the interstate.

Police claim the one-year-old child was inside the stroller and not properly restrained in a car seat. The child died from serious injuries that they sustained in that crash.

The teenage driver suffered from serious injuries and was soon transported to a local hospital. She was not wearing a seatbelt, as per the cops.

Police claim the driver is now facing charges linked to driving under the influence, driving with no license, and a child restraint violation.

Further charges might be pending, but officials have yet to share more details on this matter.
