Five people, including two kids, were seen being rushed to a nearby hospital after a 12-vehicle crash took place on the M73 in North Lanarkshire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Services sent out four fire engines and a heavy rescue unit to the scene near Gartcosh right before the midnight hours. Two people were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, two to the Royal Hospital for Children, and the fifth went to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police in Scotland shared more about how all five were rushed as a precaution.
Three others were also treated at the scene. The road was shut northbound between Junction 2 Bailleston and Junction 2a Gartcosh. The SFRS mentioned more about how several casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, who transported them to the hospital.

"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe," the post read. Six ambulances and two special operations attended to the injured.
The road was soon reopened around 3:30 after the horror smash, and there are no reports of any further police action.
