Oscar bosses have decided to ramp up security at this year's high-profile Academy Awards, which is all set to take place this weekend.
The news comes amid reports that Iran might be planning retaliatory drone strikes on California, which is where the live event will occur.
Officials shared a warning that they don't have any kind of direct information about a threat, and it has yet to be substantiated. However, the FBI says it's preparing for anything and everything as the war between Iran and the US with Israel escalates to new levels.
While talking at a press conference on March 11, the telecast executive producers at the Oscars mentioned more about how the ceremony would be increasing security ahead of the big program at Hollywood's famous Dolby Theater.
"Each year, we monitor what is going on in the world. This year, we've got support from the FBI and the LAPD, and that's a close collaboration" they confirmed while speaking about the arrangements in place.
They added how the show needs to run like a clockwork, but they wish to have everyone entering and witnessing it from a distance, a guaranteed safe space that is guarded and protected at all times.
