Singer Justin Timberlake was seen filing a legal petition in Suffolk County's Supreme Court in New York to block the public release of police body cam footage from his June 2024 DWI in Sag Harbor.
His attorneys argued more about how releasing this kind of personal and controversial footage can be extremely damaging to the star's reputation. The video features the traffic stop and arrest, and would invade privacy and cause severe and irreparable harm to both his personal and professional reputation, sources added.
They added how the video entails intimate, highly personal, and sensitive details that only the star should have the right to.
They also pointed out how the details are not related to public interest and could subject him to ridicule and serious harassment if made public under the state's Freedom of Information Law.
The filing requests that the court either block the release as a whole or enable the singer and his legal team to first review and propose redactions to protect the private data.
