Kelsey Grammer Makes a Surprising Prediction About How Trump Will Be Remembered

Kelsey Grammer has offered a very different view of Donald Trump’s presidency from the picture painted by recent polling, saying he believes the president could eventually be remembered as one of the best leaders in U.S. history.

The Frasier star, 71, made the comments during a recent interview with British radio station LBC. Grammer, who is an outspoken Republican and Trump supporter, said he believes Trump loves America and will “probably” be remembered as one of the best presidents in the country’s history.

Grammer also praised the way Trump responds to his critics, saying the president gives back the criticism he receives rather than allowing it to affect him.

His comments come at a time when Trump’s public approval numbers have been much less favorable. USA TODAY reported that a recent Focaldata/Financial Times poll put Trump’s approval at 32%, his lowest level in that poll’s tracking. Other major polling averages also showed more Americans disapproving than approving of his performance.

Trump himself has made a similarly positive assessment of his presidency. Earlier this month, he posted a ranking of U.S. presidents that placed himself alone in the top “Greatest” tier, above figures including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.

Grammer’s comments also come as the actor has spoken more openly about politics. Earlier this year, he said he had considered running for political office, describing public service as something he had thought about seriously.

For now, Grammer’s prediction is his personal assessment rather than an indication of how historians or the broader public will ultimately judge Trump’s presidency. With Trump still in office, his long-term legacy will depend on how voters and historians view the policies and events of his second term.
